The Indian Affairs - Our Relationships - Final Show

May 5, 2010

Debajehmujig is pleased to perform its final show of The Indian Affairs for guest students and teachers from St Charles Collegiate and Marymount College in Sudbury, as well as from Wasse Abin High School in Wikwemikong. In addition, several out of town guests from Thunder Bay also had the chance to see the show.

Before the performance the students from Wikwemikong and Thunder Bay were given a guided tour of the Creation Centre, while students from Sudbury followed the show with a tour of the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve including a stop at Zaamiknaang.

The performance was well received. We are noticing that adult audiences seem to enjoy Act 1 the most, when the characters are at their youngest around aged 8, while teenagers prefer Act 3 in which the characters are just a few years older than the audience members, at around 24 yrs. The feedback from the group was very positive, and they continued to talk about it during their tour to Wikwemikong.

We are thrilled to see more and more secondary school students from the Sudbury region finding ways to attend our performances and workshops, and we are grateful to the teachers and parents who help make this possible.
