Summer productions enjoy highest attendance in a decade!
As we enter the final week of our summer performances for 2010, attendance has been the highest we have experienced in almost a decade. We attribute this to supportive weather – rough waters and dark skies in the daytime to draw in the matinee audience, and clear skies at night to draw in the mainstage audience. And, of course, the excellent work on stage feeds the word of mouth referrals.
The matinee double bill continues for its last week – The Descending Star and Thunderers and Water Monsters – Amazing but True Stories. We are extremely pleased to welcome so many boaters to the creation centre, presumably interested in the stories of the magic of the skies and the fears of the dark water – and new audiences for us! The matinee continues Tuesday through Saturday at 2:00 pm at 43 Queen Street in Manitowaning.
And at the Holy Cross Mission Ruins in Wikwemikong, An Honour Story continues to draw both local audiences and visitors, as we pay homage to all those who helped in the emancipation of the culture since the early 1960’s. This dramatic story slowly transitions into a full out celebration of local culture and ceremony. An Honour Story runs Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00pm at the Holy Cross Mission Ruins in Wikwemikong.
